Free Photo Resizer

This tool runs in your browser and needs JavaScript.

To resize a photo to an exact file size, select it above, pick a target such as 50 KB or 100 KB, and download the result. The tool keeps the highest quality that fits. For online forms, you can also set a minimum size, exact pixels and DPI.

How to resize a photo to an exact size

  1. Select your photo. Select a photo or drop one on the page. JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC photos all work.
  2. Set the size. Enter the largest size you want, such as 50 KB. If your form also lists pixels, DPI or a minimum size, fill those in too.
  3. Check and download. Check the preview and the result. Use Crop or Rotate if the framing is wrong, then select Download.

What size do online forms usually ask for?

These are common values on exam and job forms in India. Rules differ by form and year, so check your own notice before you upload.

Frequently asked questions

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The photo is processed by your own browser and never sent to our server, so this tool also works for ID photos and signatures. You can check by turning off your internet after the page loads: it keeps working, except that an iPhone HEIC photo needs one small download the first time.

Why was my photo rejected by an online form?

Forms usually check several things at once: file size, a minimum size as well as a maximum, exact pixel dimensions, and format. Enter them all in the size and pixel boxes, and the result tells you if your photo can’t meet them. iPhone HEIC files are also often rejected, so this tool saves JPG by default.

Will compressing make my photo blurry?

Very small targets lose some detail, but this tool searches for the highest quality that fits your limit, and shrinks the picture rather than over-compressing it. For a sharp result at a small size, crop the photo close to your face first.

How do I keep my face in the frame when the form needs an exact shape?

Select Crop after your photo appears. The frame already has the shape your width and height need, so you can drag it over your face and resize it from a corner without stretching the photo.

What if my form asks for a minimum file size?

Enter it in the Min size box. The tool aims for the range and tells you if your photo can’t reach it. If a small, simple image stays under the minimum even at best quality, use a larger original or larger dimensions. We don’t add empty data to inflate files.

Is 1 KB 1000 bytes or 1024 bytes?

Both are used: Windows counts 1024 bytes, while macOS counts 1000. This tool stays inside your range under either definition, so a 50 KB limit gives a file of at most 50,000 bytes, and a 20 KB minimum gives at least 20,480 bytes.

Can I resize iPhone HEIC photos?

Yes. Select the HEIC photo as usual and the tool converts it to JPG in your browser. The conversion component is only downloaded when you actually choose a HEIC file, so it can take a few extra seconds the first time.

Does this remove location data from my photo?

Yes. The saved image is newly created from the picture’s pixels, so details stored in the original, such as GPS location and camera information, aren’t carried over.
